I initially thought that Kathmandu valley is the only city that can sustain large tech companies. But now, I am seriously doubting it. The city won't be able to expand. What alternative places could Nepal's Bangalore/Silicon Bay/Shenzhen be built?
If you look at it, 2nd generation Nepalese IT entrepreneurs in US are rapidly expanding their consulting start-ups in the IT sector. They hire a lot of IT people in Nepal. If this trend continues, and if Nepal can keep on producing high quality IT people from its limited educational institutions, a wave of IT outsourcing will happen in Nepal. We already speak English, so the American market is huge and well suited for Nepal.
