How depressing is this show??

I’ve read posts from people saying that they didn’t want to do anything after, didn’t wanna watch tv and the show basically took the joy of life from them. I struggle with depression and really couldn’t deal with that so I’m almost scared to start this show but it does intrigue me your his opinions on this show for people with depression??? I loved FMA 2004 so I can handle those kind of things it’s ending wasn’t happy. Also thinks like the his dark materials books.
