People who live in Japan or been there for a long time, Is Japan really a country full of "children" or is Anno wrong?

Post Body

I recently thought about this that maybe Anno just has this hyperfixated view that he litterally thinks japan is full of manchildren all because they watch anime or play games and nothing else. I know that japanese people tend to live with there parents for longer compared to the west but it isn't a complete sign of maturity. Is there actually more to it than this? I don't want to sound disrespectful but it honestly looks like annos view of japanese people are that are just nothing but autistic, immature, assholes who do nothing but sleep with waifu pillows all day. I'm sure there is more to it than that so I just want the truth.
