And yes, I have been standing in the shower in a daze saying āhelp meeeeā
Recoveryās been going pretty normally so far, but the first week was rough. Most people (including myself) have these stents put into your nose right after surgery to keep things in place. You keep them in for 5-7 days, and in that time itās basically impossible to sleep because theyāre so tight and uncomfortable. I just got mine out this morning, so now itās just a matter of recovering from post-procedure soreness, etc. Iāve heard for a lot of folks it takes a few weeks to start noticing any big changes, and thatās the case for me so far.
Youāre supposed to refrain from physical exertion/heavy lifting/stopping over for 2-3 weeks after, so itāll likely take you a bit longer to return to work given your line of work.
Are you in the US? Iām in Canada, so it was covered by public healthcare, but the whole process of asking my family doctor for an ENT referral to actually getting a surgery date took a full year. So it might be a faster process in private care, but Iām not sure!
