Having read chapter 70 now am on the world martial arts tournament arc abd read chapter with negi vs takahara going back to chapter 70 onwards both negi and kotoro both fought the demonic but ultimately negi won a a few questions

When negi went into berserk mode why kotoro stopped him as negi could have easily finished him off in berserk mode In chapter 90 (negi vs takaharA) why didn't negi use berserk mode to fight takahara as clearly struggling to win and beat him

Thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated it
