Why don't redditors seem to know how to use words? :(
Post Body
People don't know how to use personal pronouns properly and it kills me.
- "It's between he and I"
- "They came to my husband and I's party"
- "Her and Dave went to Costco"
Why??? D:
And then there's "que" for "cue" and "reign" for "rein" and all the other incorrectly used homophones that I don't want to list because I'd go spare. (don't even talk to me about apo'strophe's)
I rarely if ever point out these mistakes because
- I understand what the person means and isn't that the point of language after all
- it wouldn't really be very kind in context half the time because of the places I read these mistakes
- if I started doing it I'd never stop and how is that a good use of my time??
- I'm afraid of the folks at r/badlinguistics
but every time I see one of these it hurts me in my bones a tiny bit.
