I truly don't understand why some people have such a hard time accepting others. Respecting others. Treating them like humans.
The system isn't set up for you and I to thrive and to always get what we want. None of us do. We struggle every day, sometimes just to get by, and sometimes with a modicum of dignity. That's just the point. We all do. None of us can get by alone. None of us can survive for long and stay sane without having other people to rely on. If we all heave together in the same direction for long enough, we might be able to make things better for everybody. It never gets better if we're only trying to climb over each other in order to be the only one who gets a prize.
That's why it's so hard for me to understand people who only attack other people. People who subsist on hate and anger and insist on tearing other people down. That doesn't make anything better, for any of us. That only hurts us as a whole, and individually. Why would I want to hurt you? I am you. I want you to do well. I want you to be happy. What can possibly warp people's minds so much that they don't want that for any of us, when we're all the same?
I don't mean to be a downer; these are just things I've been thinking about for years and I hardly seem any closer to understanding anything. It's a lovely day outside. I think I'll go out and enjoy the sunshine for a while.
Be well, kiddos, and treat each other kindly. We're all we've got.
