I have 3 little kiddos (5 years, 2.5 years and 9 months) and don't drive so unless it's a school run I rarely leave the house. All my friends have jobs and/or kids so aren't around much and I always feel like I'm disturbing them if I get in touch first (anxiety issues FTW!). I survived high school thanks mostly to the friends I had online but we've all grown up, moved on and lost touch. Still, I figured a bit of online friendship could go a long way to keeping me more social and less depressed and lonely. Kids keep me quite busy so you'd need to be prepared for bits of time when I can't instantly reply. Also (I'll blame the kids for this too), I have no idea what the cool kids are using to communicate these days so you'll need to suggest something and possibly explain how it works.
