Changing residency

Has anyone changed their residency to a state their aren't currently stationed in or the state they originally joined from? My parents moved to Tennessee last year and I want to change my residency to that state bit I'm currently stationed in Charleston so I'm wondering if anyone has done this and has an idea of what I would have to do to achieve this.
