Squash blossom necklace?

I got this as part of an estate from a jewelry collector. Some of the collection was really old and some in the 80s. I believe it's a Squash Blossom necklace but I cant find information on the maker. It looks like an S with the bottom part turning in to a Q (almost like a swan?) it is all silver and well made. Any details or help would be appreciated I don't have a direct cultural connection and I want to also be sure it is cared for properly if needed.
