*Bang! Bang! Bang!\*

I awake up startled by the banging on the door of my newly aquired "apartment" I was told that if anyone ever was to "knock on"(hit) my door I should probably put some clothes on and see what they want from me so I lazily get out of bed and get dressed and as I stumble towards the door and open it who do I see but Alexandra and Levak. They are quick to explain that they have been assigned as "handlers" for me seeing as they were the ones that found my corpse and Alexandra oversaw the proccess of reviving me. However their is a 3rd figure amongst their mist a man; suprisingly unlike the rest of the people I have been seeing over the past 3 days he is not unusally tall but is rather rotund however. He Is quick to Introduce himself as "Doctor Stewarts" and explains to me that "He is here to adress the elephant in the room" I respond with "I see no such beast" he then goes on to say in a seemingly annoyed voice "ha-ha very funny anyways I have 2 serious problems to address 1: your completely incapable of reading at 19 years old and 2: you need a professional to talk to as you have been dead for a rather long time and probably have trauma related to that". "What's reading?" I ask confusedly. "It's the proccess of dechiphering symbols drawn on paper or other such material for the purpose of transmitting information" the doctor says before making his way out of the now-cramped doorway to my dwelling.

After the rather fat doctor leaves, Levak explains that the the "Venlil-prime planetary museum" is rather close to my dwelling and they are working with the UN on a more refined "exhibit" about early humans and that I might appreciate it and thus they want to take me there. "What's a museum?" I ask curious as to what we might be going to "It's like a house but instead of containing people, it contains artifacts to better explain a topic or subject" Alexandra explains.

As we make our way to the "museum" the topic starts to shift towards getting a meal in before we explore the museum and my two companions seems to be In a rather heated debate about what we should eat "I think we should go to the bar next door to the museum it would mean we wouldn't have to take a detour and besides I like their salads" "Yes Levak but we have to keep in mind that a 50% alchohol drink for you is a light drink whereas for me its toxic and im no lightweight by human standards not even to mention the fact that he's from a time BEFORE alchohol so probably all modern drinks no matter the species that developed it would kill him, and besides hes probably never even seen a vegtable let alone eaten a meal comprised of nothing but them" I chime in with "I personally wouldn't mind one of those meat slabs the UN kept giving me what were they called again? ah yes steaks that's the one I wouldn't mind those also what is a vegtable?" "Told you so" Alexandra remarks presumably towards Levak "I'm probably the only Venlil without predator disease that can stand looking at meat let alone preparing it so without a doubt in this part of town meat is out of the question" I respond with "Well I ate fruits during the summer months anywhere serve those?".

"Actually" Alexandra piped up "Gojids are quite known for the fruits of their home-world and I heard one of the refugees we brought here was planning on opening a restruant in town". So we take a detour to a small but seemingly lively "restruant" and a Spiky creature greets us telling us to sit at any "table" we please. So the three of us sit around a table and Levak asks me "Well since I now know you cannot read I guess I have to order for you, so what kind of fruits doo you like most?" I respond with "I usually have a bit of a sweet tooth but we used to eat spicy fruits with our meats as they somehow kept the meat from getting rotten so I developed a taste for spicy fruits too". Soon enough our "Order" is taken as levak tries his best to come up with something suitable for me. Our food arrives on 3 white platters one for the each of us and none of the fruits look like stuff I saw growing back home but I am still eager to try anyways. The various fruits all had exquisite tastes that definitley made me see why these spiky men were known for their fruits. A few of the fruits were sweeter than anything I had ever eaten, a few were slightly sour and there was the rare spicy one but all of them tasted simply incredible.

After a while we all finished eating and Alexandra engaged in the customary practice of "paying" the creature running the restruant we started to head to our intended destination.

We soon arrive at the museum when a rather stern looking venlil says "sorry but we cannot let you in here were still renovating the human history exhibit" Alexandra quickly shows the venlil a thing no larger than my hand and the Venlil quickly apologizes fiddling with some device that lets us in.

Levak leads me to where the human history exhibit is and I see hundreds nay thousands of odd contraptions designed by own kind that I cannot dicern the purpose of. but then he leads me a little bit further to something I can understand about two dozen skeletons encased in the same material my appartment's "window" iis made of each from a creature that obviously was at somepoint like me but different each in their own ways but one skeleton in particular catches my eye. It looks like it could have come from me except its slightly taller and then I realize why it catches my eye it has an obvious broken leg and arm in the same places my brother did and towards the left eye there seems to be what looks like the same scars my brother had. the realization hit me as my handlers said "Like a truck" as I realized I am looking at my brother's body hung up as a display piece for all. Up until I realized who that body belonged to I was quite enjoying my experience here but now this was just a sickening reminder of the people I cannot talk to ever again. I see some symbols on the case and ask Alexandra to decipher she does and reads out "homo sapiens sapiens specimen believed to be some 30,000 years old found in a cave in modern-day ukraine. Subject Is believed to have died from eating tainted food as remains found near the skeleton indicate a deer with an early-stage case of Chronic wasting disease (CWD) to have been the last meal of this subject and potentially it's entire tribe."

I drop to the floor in despair as I realize that I wasn't the one who died on that hunt, I was the one who survived as the frigid river prevented me from ever eating the deer we had slain.
