How Do I style my afro

Idk why but everytime I wear my natural afro it looks wrong in the front bc the front is like long and doesn’t shrink up the way the rest of my hair do and I’ve cut the front before to combat this but it still looked bad and it always grows back the same…does anyone else have this problem?
