Long time no post.
On Friday and Sunday I was able to do a plant rescue at a construction site that is going to be warehouses. Almost all of the plants I focused on were Hypericum prolificum which is a critically endangered species in the state of NJ.
I have already been in contact with people from different organizations who can take some. If anyone here is interested please send me a DM.
I don't mind giving some away to homeowners or anyone who wants them, but if you're part of an organization that can help put some of them in wild areas in different parts of the state that would be awesome. It's so rare to see these in the wild. I saw them only in one other place. I'm trying to reach out to anyone so that the plants can also go to different parts of the state. A lot of them are also still in the bags right now so I want to get them out quickly.
Long story short, I was aware about this place for a few months and I would visit to take photos of the cool plant species in here. As soon as I found out it was going to become warehouses I got to to work and this Friday I went to talk to the crew and they said the construction there will start on Tuesday. I was able to get a bunch of little ones since they're easier to transplant and more of them to share. The flower picture is from another wild colony I found in a nearby area, wanted to show what the flowers look like. If you want to ID the plants I can send you a link of my observations of them on inaturalist to check out and verify.
