I just feel a goosebumps actually sitting in my kayak and encountered many cardinal flowers in this swamp river and seeing bees and other insects buzzing around, they really live in the water and are good companion plants for other native, if you have a heavy soil or boggy garden bed, you can plant them together, Asclepias incarnata,or swamp milkweed are also a good pairing plant and I love sensitive fern, there are a few fern actually grow in a garden and thrive, one of them is sensitive fern, if you have a moist shade plants you can try to grow them , they also are a good ground cover plants in moist or wet garden.
