Great Basin NP
Post Body

Has anyone here ever been to Great Basin NP in Nevada? It’s the only NP fully in Nevada (my home state), but I can’t find too much information on it. What was your experience there? Is it good for hiking or backpacking? Would you go again? I live about 6 hours away and was wondering if it’s worth it to make the drive there.

Thank you!

Went last summer and it was great! Didn’t get to explore the caves which are one of the park’s highlights, but the hiking is amazing. Wheeler Peak is a great challenge if you’re up for it, but there’s so much high alpine hikes with the amazing Bristlecone Pine Trees. The park is really remote so the stargazing at night is amazing as well.
