Howdy guys!
Long time listener, first time caller.
I just wanted to share this with you as I find it a little interesting. The link to the image is at the bottom of this post.
As you can see, I've played Nation States for a bit. I go through phases where I drop out, my nation goes to the Boneyard and then I get another hankering for the game a bit later.
I'm 6/7 months into my current stint (as witnessed by my current main at the top!) And after discovering the trading card mini game, I set about resurrecting my old states to help card farm (also I just think it would be really nifty to get my own cards for the state should Season 3 roll around)
Luckily the only account I could remember was from my RP days and had a dossier full of my older nations so I got the whole gang back together!
I knew some of my Nations were pretty old as far as things go, and after some googling, I found out you could work out your Nations birthday by using information from the Boneyard when you type their names in.
I've compiled a list of mine that brought up a few interesting thoughts for me.
1) I clearly haven't changed much since 2006. I get involved in NS during summer holidays when I'm bored or Christmas time for the same reason
2) I can remember pretty much making up every one of these nations, from NYE 2006 using a name from an old forum, my first round of RPing with friends in 09, a second RP in '11 with a different group of friends, 2014 when I was struggling pretty badly at the one year anniversary of a family members passing and wanted to distract myself before going into my final year of university (studying Politics and International Relations, appropriate haha) and then some minor dabbling since then.
3) my first nation was created when I was 14. I'm 27 now and its insane thinking how much my life has changed since sitting on my old steam powered desktop that sounded like it was taking flight every time you booted it up. I would never have expected to still be logging in 16/17 years later.
Honestly this post was more of a ramble than anything, but it just hit me with an odd wave of nostalgia, and 'what if I could go back in time and talk to my younger self in a time I was riddled with doubt and questions about what the future held'. And looking back on how many things have changed and what had stayed the same.
So what about you guys? What do you remember doing on your States' birthdays? :)
