I absolutely feel you. However after a fair amount of play time and really analyzing the controls, I have found that most issues can be worked around. I really toyed with the targeting and admittedly it's rough but getting used to quick targeting and shifting the lock helps a lot. It can be annoying most definitely, not trying to downplay it.
The camera is still an issue although I personally set the sensitivity low. I feel like I have way more control. I also really tried to make swiveling my camera a habit. This added with quick targeting helped with detecting approaching enemies and covering my own ass. For example, the lock will pick up someone through a wall of they are close enough. This can keep you from being blindsided and allows you to set up a preemptive strike.
Sticking with my teammates helped my win ratio. Its extememly obvious but I was one of those guys who just bum rushed as an lolRANGER. My temptation to just move in and kill things was a huge factor in my many deaths. Playing into my role made the battle more manageable and I saw myself assisting my attackers and scoring kills quickly.
All I'm really trying to say is that I started having more success and fun when I just allowed myself to learn through experience. I was really pissed about the controls and blamed them when I was keeping myself from improving.
All that being said, I'm still up in the air about buying on release. I definitely want to see some improvements and so many things need to be changed for the better. The controls are adaptable though, so just keep trying and you will see that win ratio go up.
