So I want to start this off by saying this is simply something I've dabbled as this wouldn't even be a thing for my current story and would instead revolve around the sequel.

That said, if I were to actually finish my story and write a sequel to it, I would like to write a Boruto style sequel with the kids and the like. However, I'm not using the canon pairings and thus the kids will be different in some ways.

I've never seen Boruto, though I do know basic qualities about the kids thanks to reading up on some of them. Since I'm changing the parents for almost all of them, should I even watch Boruto to get a better feel for them, or would they be so different that it be moot either way? (For example Boruto's mom in my story would be Temari and not Hinata)
