So I’ve seen lots of discussion online since the release of Baryon mode and its capabilities. However, there’s one thing I’ve speculated a lot about personally and I’m curious what others think. Baryon mode is an incredible power and it functions by consuming one’s own life energy to reduce the life energy of another (this is extremely simplified and it may also be a flawed understanding so I’m prepared to be corrected). I’ve seen lots of people suggest that the ability just happened to be clutch in the moment because of the unusual circumstance of Isshiki’s remaining lifespan, as he started with around 24 hours if I’m not mistaken and was reduced to something like 30 minutes? The question I wanted to pose to this sub was simple, do we think that Baryon mode shaves a fixed amount of life energy off of whoever it comes into contact with (ex: 15 minutes per hit), or does it shave off a proportion of the life energy of whoever it comes into contact with (ex: 2.5% of their life force with each hit)? It isn’t exactly specified in the manga or the show and I’m curious what peoples’ thoughts are.
