So, I'm rewatching the series in English dub, so I can talk with my brother about it since he's watching it.
In the episodes where Naruto fights Kakuzu, earlier in the episode (or maybe the episode before) Naruto calls out the jutsu as being wind style rasengan. Then when he fights Kakuzu, he calls it the Rasenshuriken.
It also looks less like a shuriken when he tests it against Kakashi's rasengan.
Is this just a dubbing thing, or is there a difference to them?
As far as I know, Naruto only uses the Rasenshuriken from then on
