Hello community nappers 😴 I’m looking for feedback on the concept of developing a simple, easy to digest, printable fact sheet about Narcolepsy.
As a community disability advocate, one thing I am proud of is being able to spread awareness about invisible disabilities to those around me.
However, I am at times tired (pun intended) of explaining what Narcolepsy is to people who stare at me with this perplexed look of, “okay? And? Everyone is tired”.
With this small proportion of people, I have to devolve to explaining places I would fall asleep before my diagnoses and/or how thorough MSLT’s are….and there is still always the risk of them bringing up vitamins, sleep health, etc
For those scenarios, I wonder if it would be helpful to be able to present a collection of facts about Narcolepsy, a brief FAQ, as well as a list of resources that they can peruse on their own time should they want to learn more.
What do you think? Is this something you think would benefit the life of a Person with Narcolepsy? What flaws do you see here? Are there any points I made that you specifically like?
If this gets enough feedback, I will likely create an anonymous form that can be filled out with your opinions. This would allow more people to candidly share their thoughts. It will also allow me to aggregate data and produce the most useful tool.
Sending my thanks for your contribution, and wishing you a comfortable day.
