Ever stretch and feel like you were "passing out" into sleep the moment you relaxed out of the stretch?

(I picture unwanted sleep/sleepiness attacks as being done by an invisible enemy named Nod)

I have stiff joints and muscles, so I have to stretch different parts of my body before I can get up. But the moment I relax out of each stretch, Nod pulls me back into the softness of my pillows, the warmth of my bed, knocking me unconscious against my will. Nod will not be defied; dropping into deep sleep after a stretch is unescapable.

I've tried sitting upright to do my stretches but it rarely helps; most times I end up falling back onto the bed in a kind of faint. Even on the rare times I can mentally remain aware of what is happening, I can't move my body. It's like sleep paralysis that hits after I've already woken up and stretched.

Is this just my experience? Or is this a shared phenomenon?
