Hello. as you can see i'm new. and im sure theres other posts like this but..well, here we are. I had been to my doctor for my thyroid check up, and i had told him that im tired during the day even after i sleep all night, i cant focus. So- here i am getting a sleep study done. That lovely thing where they want you to sleep with like 30 wires attached to your body- oh, and lets not forget that youre a belly sleeper..and youre not allowed to sleep on your stomach during this. which sucks. then they wake you up at 6am and they make you nap every two hours for 20-30 minutes. okay, no problem. im tired from not sleeping well from all the wires.
Doctor calls two days later, saying i was falling asleep within 1-2 minutes and was going into rem sleep faster than normal. "You're narcoleptic." im sorry, what? i suppose it could be worse, but thats just hard to believe. so he prescribes me Nuvigil. 150mg. never been on anything like this before- just kind of hope it works cause how amazing would it be to not be tired during the day and to have the focus and energy that you used to. (im making myself sound old now. great)
First day- i take half since i dont know what my reaction is going to be or what sideeffects i may have. it works well. Second day- i go ahead and take a whole pill since nothing happened the first day that made me worried. I willingly clean the house without being asked, take out all the trash, going through boxes in the attic. holy crap. and then night comes. 3am. wide awake. i want to sleep so bad but my eyes feel like theyre trying to punch me cause they want to be awake.
Day three- oh. good morning headache. are you because of last night? maybe a cold front? medicine side effect, though you are awfully late? along the front of my head. forehead. anyone else?
the medicine does its job...but it does it too well.
