Hello all, I'm in the process of getting diagnosed with narcolepsy. My PCP and psychiatrist both suspect I have it based on symptoms over the last year and I'm waiting to hear back from the sleep study people to schedule my appointment. My main question is- does anyone here whos diagnosed also have bipolar disorder?? I see the most common treatment for narcolepsy is stimulants to stay awake during the day. I'm also ADHD and was told by my psychiatrist I can't be treated for it in traditional ways because stimulants directly make my bipolar worse. Now this is referencing methylphenidate and Adderall but I saw modafinil is a common med for narcolepsy and wanted to see if anyone here has been on it while also being bipolar. I tried checking a few subredditd to no avail so any help would be greatly appreciated!
