What do you call a situation where your abusive narcissistic husband starts to be kinder and makes a big "presentation" of his goodness?

This kind of reminds me of all the stories about abused women who STAY because all of a sudden, he makes "grand promises" that she is desperate to believe... What is the right term for this??

Well...After months of ups and downs with my narcissist husband - I have to say that I am completely EXHAUSTED 😩 I'M POOPED... and so are our 4 kids (ages 12, 12, 10 and 6.) My nervous system is overworked, I'm feeling how all the crazy adrenaline is affecting my body and overall health. My kids have lost all sense of calm and equilibrium. And to be completely transparent, I have already discretely began planning my exit from this insane marriage of 16 years (almost 17).

So... my question to you all is... 1)How do you NOT get sucked back in to the "grand promises"? 2)How do ya'll keep your heart safe and protected (million dollar question)? 3)What are things that YOU GUYS DO to keep yourselves sane in an insane marriage - while planning your exit strategy?

Thanks for reading and commenting to my post 🙏🏼❤️ This is my first time posting to this group... although I've been watching it for a while.

I hope to connect with other women here who are/were in similar situations- to share strength, hope and ideas ❤️ Thanks again!
