After a long time of me asking my wife to go to couples counseling, she finally said ok after a "straw the broke the camel's back" argument where I've just felt silent and broken for the last couple of weeks. After doing a lot of introspection and research... I believe she is a covert narc and I'm suffering from CPTSD, though I need to wait for a diagnosis to be sure...
We are seeing a couples counselor tomorrow, and in all the reading I've found this is a BAD idea if she is indeed a narc, especially a covert narc... But I don't feel like I can back out... It was my idea, and something I've been pushing for... So backing out would just lead to her using it against me.
How can I relay to the counselor what I'm dealing with, without putting myself in danger of the backlash?
I also have an appointment with an on campus therapist for one on one therapy involving this... During the intake they affirmed my belief that I'm suffering with abuse, so I'm hoping that will be a good start to me helping myself.
