Why do ex narcs stalk?

Why do narcissists do so much stalking after the discard? Like if you were so happy about leaving, why are you looking at my page from multiple accounts and trying to talk to my partner? This gives me such bad anxiety. I feel like I can’t enjoy my own social media accounts.
