So did anybody’s narc all of a sudden become religious after the breakup?

My sons dad hit me with “I’ll pray messiah unhardens your heart” during an argument about our son.

Am I against religion? Not at all. In fact my step mom is a pastor and when we first had my son I’d asked him what he thought about us going to church together. His response was basically no because he was spiritual and not religious. So when my son got a little older, about 4 I asked again if he wanted to start going together and it was a no, or he’d beat around the bush about not wanting to go to my step moms church and that we should find our own. Never happened.

But now everything is “I’ll pray for you”

Side note: I’ve noticed that every single thing I was trying to get him to do ie: get a better job (he was working for a third party inside of Walmart which was commission based and he made no money so I suggested just working at Walmart instead. I was “crushing his dreams” when I suggested that. Two months later he started at Walmart.. then kept cheating while he was there of course. After Walmart I suggested he go back into pest control since he made the most money doing that and again I was “crushing his dreams” we break up and he’s back at a pest control job…

I wanted to get a dog while we lived together, he got one with his new girlfriend. I told him about all these places I wanted to take my son.. and he took him this past summer to every single place I mentioned with his girlfriend and her kids.

I feel insane but I know this is the game they play. Has anyone experienced something similar? How’s you keep your head on straight? Because it’s taking everything in me not to show his girlfriend the recipes of the holes he used to punch in our walls and the broken tvs from him throwing our sons dinner across the living room at any mention of him cheating.

He’s living in some womens house with her kids and my son is caught in some kind of web of lies. And this was after 5 years of me keeping this guy out of homelessness because his family doesn’t deal with him for long periods of time. He’s lived in my dads house with me and the last two years together h was living completely rent free in the apartment he shared with me. The second year there was solely because I knew he’d be homeless if I left, so I told him to get the pest control job and save up so he wouldn’t be grasping for resources since the lease was up. He chose to keep doing dirt and then I finally left. But let him tell it and I abandoned him. And now I’m made to look bitter.
