How do they live like nothing ever happened?

Like the way they will treat you like less than a human being and just go on with their day completely unbothered while you fall apart. You can fall apart right in front of them, feeling so much emotional agony you feel like dying, and they won’t even glance in your direction, and just walk past you like you’re garbage. If they do say anything, it’s cold and cruel. I just can’t understand it. I couldn’t ever treat someone like that.
