Narcs parents justifying their behavior?

I have had a few discussions over the years with my exes mother discussing her behavior and how unacceptable it is in various ways. Her mother refuses to ever accept that her childâs actions are wrong and she justifies them by saying âwell she used to be a lot worseâ and âitâs because of her childhoodâ etc etc. Anyone else have a similar experience?
