I missed the largest red flag my narc waved. Looking back I could kick myself. At the time what he said just didn't make sense.

Post Body

My narcissist worked for me. When he first started he was the best employee I could ask for. He didn't have a car at the time so I let him use a work vehicle. One Saturday morning he didn't show up for work and didn't answer when I called. When I got home from work the van was parked in front of my house and had obviously been in an accident. When I asked what happened he told me that his girlfriend started hitting him and grabbed the steering wheel and caused the accident. I told him how I couldn't believe that someone could ever get mad at him let alone mad enough to cause that much damage. He had always been very kind, polite, calm, cool and collected. I was truly dumfounded.

The flag I missed was when he responded with the words " don't worry, you'll find out". But damn he was right...I definitely found out how horrible he truly is.
