Do I have a case to get more custody?
Post Body

My nex called me last week and told me that her new husband has been sexually abusing the kids. He has been arrested. I am unsure what to believe, but my nex made false allegations towards me in our divorce saying I was abusive towards her.

I am in a different country since I'm military so I'm far away and don't really know what's going on. If I decided to get a lawyer, would I have a good case for getting more custody? I have 50/50 and I'm the summer time parent right now. My line of thinking is that if it's true that he did abuse the kids, she is responsible for not providing a safe environment for the kids. If she is making false allegations, well then I still think I could have a case since she would expose herself to the courts. She already has exposed herself to be a liar when I fought my allegations.

Should I get a lawyer now? Or wait and see how this plays out? I want to get one, but I don't want to waste time, money, and resources if I'm not going to move the needle in granting me more custody of my children.
