I read Adam Zamoyski's book on Napoleon. Are my impressions about Napolean right?
Post Body

From the book, I get the sense that history found Napoleon, Napoleon did not find history. He did not fight and rise to power though firece determination but rather played the role he was told to which eventually positioned him to take power. This is evident from being sent to military school so early and constantly falling into opportunities to advance or being at the right place at the right time. He also seemed to be quite nerdy and simp for Josephine. It's seems like his expansion and wars were more the machine than him pushing it. Am I getting the wrong impression of him?
