So the family I work for is expecting NK #2 in the middle of next year! Which is very exciting and I’m very happy for them. However, since MB is still early on they’re not sure what that is going to look like for me. She’s going to be taking 3 months of maternity leave and then after that she’s not sure if she’s gonna go back to work part time or even at all so that leaves me in a weird predicament.
I know it’s still early to worry about things, but I really do love this family and I know at the end of the day it’s a job but I’m still sad to think that when the baby comes along then I won’t have a job. At first it was like “Oh yay, job security!” but now it’s up in the air. I know her though and she doesn’t do well with not working so I’m hopeful that she’ll go back to work and still need me.
TL;DR: I’m an anxious mess about the new baby and what that means for my employment
