NF got a hamster at the beginning of the summer. The kids were in love with her for about two weeks, then she became more of a stinky decoration. I told MB I would not be responsible for the hamster’s care, including food, water, exercise, or cage cleaning.
For the past two weeks, I have been feeding and watering her because no one else was. I broke down and cleaned her cage today because the smell was SO BAD. F4 helped me set up a play area for the hamster so she could be out of her cage at least for a few minutes (we used an empty plastic tub and some random small cardboard boxes from recycling).
If they asked me to take her, I would. I need another pet like a hole in the head (five parrots, two chinchillas and a dog), but the poor thing deserves a better life than this.
