Anyone else find parts of the job extremely upsetting?
Post Body

I was looking after NK’s today and the boy, 10M, was yet again just being nasty to his sister. Insult after insult. I’m trying out techniques you guys have suggested (forever grateful for y’all!) but just hearing how nasty he can be is so upsetting. It really reminds me of the things my mother would say her brothers called her. She came from a horrible, abusive family and at aged 18 became chronically depressed because of her upbringing. I’m so worried that his sister (8F) will be affected like my mum was. To have someone constantly berate you and make you feel small in your own home... it’s a horrible thing to witness. I’m starting to regret taking this job. If I can’t straighten out his behaviour by the end of the school year I may have to leave. I can’t be around someone like that, no matter how much younger...
