I picked up an occasional date night job, but it’s turning into not at all what I signed up for.
MB and DB both work in a field be where they need to work weekends, with occasional overlap.
When I interviews she said they would need me daytime one Saturday a month and everything else would be date nights.
So.... first off so far she has asked for help every single weekend (all of October and November). I’ve only been able to sit for them twice - this is my second time.
Last night I got a text from MB telling me that her in-laws were in town but they were leaving first thing in the morning so no worries.
I texted her back and asked if she still needed me. No response.
So I got there this morning and MB wasn’t even home. I met Grandma and she told me the rest of the family (4 more people) were still sleeping since they were out late last night.
So I spent the morning corralling a 2yo and 4yo in the basement because people were also sleeping in their playroom.
DB comes home in an hour (I’ve never met him) and 2yo is napping and 4yo is playing with his uncles. When I was up there to put 2yo down the uncles were walking around in towels. So I feel super uncomfortable going up there to get 4yo, especially because he’s not going to want to go.
I cleaned up the kitchen from lunch and now I’m just awkwardly sitting here on my phone. Family seems unlikely to leave before DB gets here. I don’t know what to do.
