This morning I gave my 8 month old NK Honey Nut Cheerios. I knew Cheerios were okay to give my NK, and the home only ever has the honey ones so I just assumed and gave baby like 6 or so before WFH MB comes out and asks if those are the honey ones. I say yes and she lets me know baby can’t have honey under a year old- and immediately I feel stupid. I would never give baby actual honey or PB or any foods that aren’t baby safe and I KNOW the risk of honey before a certain age, but I totally blanked when giving her the snack. I feel so bad and like an inadequate nanny. I know she’s totally fine and MB wasn’t mad at me or anything, and i apologized, but it’s such a stupid thing to not think about. Its worse knowing that it’s someone else’s baby and my sole job and I feel terrible about it.
