Questions About Nanny Standards/Etiquette

I was asked to work today, which I’m more than happy to do as I haven’t been working as much lately (the dad gets the kids every other week for visitations). Then the dad’s fiancé randomly texts me a half hour into my shift that she’s sick so she’s leaving work early and will be home soon.. so I will only have worked two hours when I was supposed to work 8, if that… do I say anything?? I just feel it’s wrong to ask someone to work, assuming for a whole shift, just to be sent out that early.
