Is it rude to ask for a house key?

Post Body

This is a minor issue but I thought I’d see what people think! I’ve worked for this family for 1.5 years, see them 3-4 times a week, and have a great relationship w both the kid and MB (no DB). I also pretty frequently am coming and leaving from their house to pick kid up from school or take him out, and I have to go searching for their spare key. If I come over on a weekend, I have to text MB that I’m here so she can answer the door since her doorbell never works (some smart home thing that constantly disconnects lol) which usually wastes several minutes. I was under the impression that it’s pretty normal for a nanny to have a key, but maybe not? So would it be completely weird to ask for my own copy of the keys or is that normal?
