I love Hachi and I found her quite resilient despite her naivety. But the one person I could not stand besides others in the anime is Shouji. Now cheating is wrong to begin with but that is not the main point. Shouji was a massive tool from the beginning. When I saw Shouji and Nana in the beginning I knew that immediately it would not work. Nana was looking for pure love and affection, and attention but Shouji was just a college kid who in a nutshell did not want to be tied down by a girl. Then the two feelings cane to a head and after that argument you would think things may be good but nope! The two had a lot of communication issues and when he tried to shoot down her dreams for Tokyo because he did not want her to go just for him, I actually respected him for that. However when he tells her to not be so dependent on him after promising her a place to stay and questioning whether or not it was a good idea to move out when HE wanted the space. That really grinded my gears. Hachi was finally getting a job, and being more independent from the pack and developing new friendships and growing and he had the nerve to act all annoyed, and jealous. He wanted her to get away so he had freedom and she did just that. Got a job, looked good, and felt like the world was her Oyster with Nana O. by her side. Then this butt took the freedom and started a little friendship with a girl and did not end it when it got all serious. Like boy she gave you puppy eyes, and you then decided yeah this was my next game. Nah bro F that. You don't have the right to be upset with Haci over following what you want, get mad for your needs not being met and then cheat on her with the next pretty little thing that comes your way. Nah it does not work like that at all. Relationship are about compromise but this dumptrashfire wanted to still live it up.

Anyways thank you Ai Yazawa for making a nice loathable character so that I see a walking red flag better and I hope if the manga ever comes back shoji gets his just desserts from Sachiko. Just saying.
