Hello, I’m looking into beauty schools to become a nail tech and this one school has both options, but it makes it seem like the nail tech program is just an add on to the manicurist program. So I’m wondering, could I still become a nail tech if I only do the manicurist program?
The nail tech program is about twice as much as the manicurist one cost wise and I’d rather save my money if it’s possible to become a nail tech with just the manicurist program. The manicurist program says it provides the 400hrs needed for the state board exam while the nail tech program provides 600hrs.
Also I’m a bit confused as to what the difference is between the two; my interpretation of them is that a manicurist is more of a general term since they can also do pedis and other stuff while nail techs are solely focused on nails. Are those definitions correct?
Thank you for reading my post :)
Some schools add hours to their programs so students can get financial aid.
