Can I add a layer of acrylic to plastic press-ons so they’re less fragile and stay on?

Post Body
I was wondering if anyone had tried applying acrylic to plastic press-ons? For me press ons are way too fragile and pop off too easily, but I’d love to wear them. I do my own acrylics at home but I can’t do designs.
I was thinking of doing a layer on the bottom to help it stick my my nail like an acrylic, and maybe a clear acrylic on top. I’d sand down the top of the press on and do more acrylic or just a top coat but I also worry about taking off the design. Any suggestions or ideas? Anyone try this?
