Why is the HDD light on the H710 so damn bright.

Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to make the HDD light on the H710 a small yet equally intense sun. Seriously that thing is so bright and worst of all from what i'm reading there is no way to disable the light because the power button and the led use the same cord. Does anyone have any ideas?
