Hey guys, I want to know if maybe someone deal with what I am dealing with right now. So here the situation, I took my exam back on July 2023 and began to do initial medical, jst, written and oral the last week sept to first week of October. I pretty much pass everything right away except the oral psych which was on review for 3 months. Due to this delay, I didn’t make the cut for October 26 or January 3 class. I met with my investigator on Oct 13 provided everything she needs, my arrests dispositions and summons dispositions, spend over 6 hours in her office writing statements on my whole packet. I just want say I have not been the perfect citizen but I change my ways and have been totally transparent with my investigator. Her supervisor came to speak to me about my record and ask me why I should get hired. I explain that I have matured and I have been holding myself accountable. I want to be a cop to help people to hold myself to higher standards. He said ok and then I ask my investigator after he left if my whole record was going to be problem. She told me no. She told me to get her 4 things and email to her and I complete everything she needs by the following day which was defensive driving course and it was a waiting game from. Last week of December I found that my investigator is finally finish up my packet which in my opinion should have been finish before Oct 26 class because she had everything she need but whatever. I finally get my second psych interview on Jan 16 same day found out I passed. So the backfill was Jan 17 so I didn’t make the cut because my packet needed supervisor sign off. I called CAD on Monday and was told that right now my Packet is under review by a certain unit because the supervisor didn’t approve my packet and if they come to same conclusion as the supervisor I would receive a NOPD for background. Which is frustrating because since I meet with investigator in October, I ask if it was going to be a concerns and she ensured me that i would be fine. I just said I have 3 arrest for misdemeanors that were dismissed each time in court. From 5 years ago and they vary from 2015,2017,2019. I do have three moving violations on driving record from 2014(cell),2017speeding, 2017 speeding. But no points currently on my license. For the past 5 years been staying out of trouble. So now it go either way but I want to be prepared for the NOPD and was wondering if I should pay 2.5-5k for a lawyer to appeal the NOPD. Anyone got advice for me or experience the same thing in the past?
