Flexible jobs

I currently work in catering as a server. This is my first catering job but not my first food service work. The rules are one of the most flexible ones of any jobs I’ve had. Some being: You can choose which shifts to accept and deny, and you can take months (even more than a year) off and come back to the job, no problem. Are there other jobs similar to this?
