Rental price price fixing is real - here is why.

Hey fun bitches.

NY rental market is legit fucked up. I was looking for a 1 bed/bath. I have been paying $4000/month on the UES. I want a new place but they are approaching close to $5k. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Even stuff on e96 is THE SAME price as places in Long Island City and Brooklyn. God bless NYC disclosures - i love seeing what it rented for i the last 2 years.

Have you all heard of RealPage? Probably not. They are a Dallas IT company that helps syncs rental prices with other competitors in each market. (Basically collusion and pricing fixing)

So when you bitches see 1bed/bath for $4800 a month and its been vacant for 9 months, its because they are collaborating with realpage. Whats worse is that most of the same units are the exact same price regardless of location (it seems like dooman buildings in JC, manhattan, queens and brooklyn are all the same fucking price - $4800).

Why the fuck should a place on e75 cost the exact same amount as a place on e96?

I asked several leasing agents โ€œhow much wiggle room is there in the price? I really like the unit!โ€. Their response is usually โ€œwe can take $50 offโ€ or โžก๏ธโžก๏ธโ€œthe software wont let usโ€. When i asked about the software, they say โ€œit hurts our performance scorebonus if we drop pricesโ€. This proves collusion.

Real estate brokers dont give a fuck about you. In fact, they make more money when when this happens.

So basically, RealPage outsources collaboration so all of the rental companies here can engage in legalized extortion.

If you all are looking, asking the leasing agent about pricing.

FWIW, im a hardcore capitalist and business bitch, but this is just illegal. Ive already emailed the city consumer protection office and state attorney general.

Also, its important to check the price history to see how much it rented for in the last few years (exclusing 2020-2022) and how long its been vacant. If its been vacant for a while and barely any price change, ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ. I also saw several units that were vacant for a few months ($4200ish), and all of a sudden, they raise the price to $4800, and its been vacant for 6 more months.

Lets all fight back so we can get our hot girl walks on in tropical vacations. ๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿฉฑ๐Ÿน๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ–๏ธ
