LF: studio or one bedroom for $900 or less...possible?

It's not for me and this might be a throwaway since I don't know if my friend browses Reddit.
I know that when you are searching for apartments its best to aim for $1000 or more. My friend knows that too but its the budget they are aiming for. I just want to know where is the best place to look for an apartment this price.
Edit: Also looking for some advice when looking for an apartment in this price range. My friend does not want have roommates, I assuming because she is a photographer.
