You know the three stages MBR describes of Emotional slavery The obnoxious stage Emotional liberation
?
I'm seeing this as correlated with people's relationship to social injustices.
Emotional slavery - accepting the harmful aspects of the status quo Obnoxious stage - seeing how the status quo does not serve you and fighting to change it in ways that do not consider the needs that are met by the status quo Emotional liberation - exploring how various aspects of the status quo meet or do not meet various needs and exploring a variety of strategies to work toward meeting more needs
I have the sense that I'm largely in the last stage and I feel really impatient for people to get there. But they have to go through the obnoxious stage first, and I want to appreciate that, because it's better than the emotional slavery stage. It's progress.
But I also need empathy and to mourn that we don't have a turning point number of people in the final stage, so we can get in with making life more beautiful collaboratively!
Will you help by empathizing and sharing any mourning you have about this with me? If you include jackals please just lovingly distinguish/label them if you can.
