Yes, you read that right! She works at a start-up that is owned (also her direct boss) by someone she dated briefly when she was in college – she was in her first year while he was in his final year. No other employees/colleagues are going on this trip. It’s just her and her boss and they are allegedly meeting a client who will help them expand his start-up business. I had expressed my discomfort about this situation to her when she first announced she was going. But her response was that this business deal is extremely important for her boss and she will be doing an important presentation for their client during that trip. She also assured me that they had booked separate hotel rooms (well duh!). What makes things worse/intriguing is that they are going to a beach-town and they’ll be there the whole weekend – returning Sunday! My fiancé loves beaches while I’m more of a mountain/hiking guy, so I’m fairly positive that they’ll be spending some time on the beach while they are there. Moreover, her boss has insisted that if they’re able to secure the deal that they go out drinking and knowing my fiancé, she’ll probably be drunk after her 2^nd glass of champagne. As a result, this introduces even more risks and caveats to an already volatile situation.

Now, I will admit that I am slightly turned on by this situation too, hence why I’m posting this here. This has been eating at me since she first told me about it last week and the butterflies in the pits of my stomach have been fluttering faster and faster as the day keeps creeping closer.
